Was wondering, with the ASun possibly adding a school or two over the next few years, if they don't close up shop, it's possible whomever they add will play lacrosse. Would that lacrosse team automatically play in the Southern Conference ? I imagine it would be discussed before the school would make that move.

Bears couldn't produce any runs in the ncaa regionals.
They had a great season and should be proud of what they did accomplish!

Middle GA should be paying more attention to Mercer's Baseball team, but college baseball just doesn't pull many fans. Unfortunate. I need to follow them more closely myself. Tough to make it to any games, living in WR and working so much.

Incredible that Mercer's o-line is so good with only 2 scholarship classes. That is good recruiting and good coaching. Of course we have to see how well they perform this year.

Hampton is starting men's lacrosse in 2016 and will play as an independent. Would The Socon be interested in adding them as an associate member in a few years. A ninth team would be perfect and they fit geographically. If a current Socon member was close to adding lacrosse, I would say we don't need to add Hampton, If Div. I lacrosse grows like many expect over the next dozen years there will be a probably be a good bit of movement between conferences. To tell you the truth, I wouldn't mind adding NJIT as a ninth member, but I'm not paying travel expenses.

Tough loss to High Point. I thought the Bears had this one.

Time to focus on beating High Point in the tournament. This is going to be a tough one!

How good, or bad, is Tennessee Tech ? Should that be a easy win? Or will the Bears have to fight and claw for a shot at a victory?

Air Force will be a nice add to SoCon lacrosse . Mercer gave them a battle today, but couldn't get over the hump. We have a great shot to get the 1 or 2 seed for the tourney. Once in, who knows what will happen.
Go Bears !

The three teams that we have beaten so far this year are still above us in this power ranking. I find it hard to believe that is very accurate.

It is a tough out of conference schedule but I think they should have a couple more games on it. 12 total games is a little on the low side. Try to get to 14 games in 2016. With Air Force coming to SoCon next year they will have 7 SoCon games, that will be 7 out of conference games.

Why would schools like Richmond and Boston U be able to start later than Mercer and suddenly have such good programs? Location? Proximity to traditional LAX territory? I feel like we've got the right coach and was really impressed with the credentials of this years' recruits. Maybe just need another year or 2. I don't know how they became so competitive so fast. They are located in strong lacrosse areas. Not sure if they were able to get transfers that helped or brought in some really good young players that came together quickly.

Richmond is looking really good this year. They may be the best of the Socon.
