They don't hold back on the purse strings, do they? Probably just spend the same as Furman does on the upkeep of the rose garden and lake

Probably just spend the same as Furman does on the upkeep of the rose garden and lake I shudder to think at how much money at Furman goes into campus maintenance. Then again, when you are consistently ranked as one of the most beautiful campuses in the country, hard to say that is not a sound investment. That attention to detail has paid for itself over and over again, I imagine.

The attention to detail is especially noteworthy when compared to some state universities. And reclaiming Tattnall Square Park is going to greatly improve visitor's perception of the appearance of the front of the university. I can't wait for the new fountain to be installed in Tattnall.

I don't know exactly what beardowneverydown.com is going to be... ...but I have a feeling that some SoCon Football Recruiting Coordinators just might feel a bit 'puckery' tomorrow as this may be their mental picture for the day...

Won't dispute that Mercer has improved its campus, and that it is quite attractive. I think Furman and Mercer are not really in the same zip code in that area, though. I've appreciated seeing what they've done to Tattnall Square Park. Lot of effort in the college hill corridor to improve downtown Macon. Lot of changes that were sorely needed.

To paraphrase UGA's running back on why he doesn't use social media: "Lamborghini doesn't need to advertise."

The rest of the FCS should have Don Draper on speed dial!

Yep - Bear Down Every Down - is now LIVE and, as I suspected, it IS, IMHO, a Game-Changer in terms of attracting and gaining the interest of Prospective Student Athletes in GA, the SE, and, quite possibly, nationally. The school, the coaches, the players, and the team will still have to 'close the deal,' but you gotta get 'em 'in the store' if they're going to become buyers. This will get them in the store! Give yourself 30 minutes or more today to completely check it out. Great pics and videos of your Mercer Bears there along with very impressive interviews of many of the current Bears speaking about their experiences at Mercer University and with with Mercer Football.

Furman has a beautiful campus. No doubt about that. I'm sure they are at the top of the "Most Beautiful Campus" lists. However, in just the last 2 1/2 years that I have been exposed to Mercer, I would say that Mercer has to be on the list of "Most Improved". What is amazing to me, is that President Underwood & Co. are not resting on their progress (new football/lacrosse stadium, new field house, Cruz Plaza, baseball stadium renovation, others?) , but have doubled down on the projects in the works (new gateway with hotel, retail, student apartments and bridge over Mercer University Ave.; new freshmen dorm; Tattnall Square Park renovation, new $30M science building, etc.).
