Be good to see if Mercer can build off last years clsoe calls and win some of them. Year 2 and time to make a little noise in the SOCON. Need to build the program and cant go backwards. A bad season this year really hurts the program. Last thing MU needs is a stigma that they are not a good football program.

I don't think there's any danger of getting a stigma about being a bad football program if you have a down year in the 3rd year since you restarted the program. A good year really helps, but I don't think a bad year really hurts.

I think from a program perspective, the key for building a solid one right now is to continue to "beat expectations". While the expectations are growing, the tools of success are growing as well.
