I'd say this is another toss-up. However, with the Bears playing very good, both at home and on the road, I'll give them a very slight edge over the win-less Golden Eagles. Bears win, 28-24."
Something about this picks seems very familiar....Oh yeah, I remember now... "Purple & Gold's pick: the Bears disappoint their fans (and the SoCon) with a 28-24 loss to the Governors."
Hmmm....I'm thinking your pick this week is actually an attempt to invoke some sort of numerology karma and actually put the whammy on the Bears. Would you consider switching to the other side and picking TTU?

Chattanooga (-1) at Samford - This line really surprises me, to be honest. IMO Samford has been the most impressive SoCon team to this point. Massey has them as a 1 point favorite. Going with the Underbites here. Chatt gave up 400 yards offense to Mars Hill. If Samford takes home run shots like they have all year, it could be big play city in Homewood all day. Wofford at Idaho (-3) - Don't know a lot about Idaho, other than the face that they are a 20 point underdog to Ga Southern next week. I'll take the RatDogs to win outright. Furman at UCF (-26.5) - Didn't UCF lose to FIU? I'll take the 'Dins to lose but cover. The Citadel at Georgia Southern (-22) - To me, the Bullpups have been the 2nd most impressive team thus far. I know GSU gets their QB back, but 22 points seems like a ton. I'll stick with the Charleston Mutts on this one to cover, but not win outright. VMI at Richmond (-18) - VMI has shown us one thing so far. They can score points. And it's hard to cover a big spread against a team that can sling it. So I'll take the Keydets to cover but lose. WCU at Tennessee (-36.5) - Feel kinda bad for the Cants in this one. Tennessee is really talented on offense and they are coming off a really disappointing one to Oklahoma. I have a feeling they are going to come out... motivated. Vols cover. |

My perfect week (except for the Mercer game, of course) was undermined by supporting our men in (pretend) uniform...can't trust those kids playing soldier, dangit!  |
