Mercer plays new A10 power and former SoCon power Davidson at Belk Arena. Davidson is picked to finish third in the A10 this year.
Davidson has only played one game so far, a easy win over a bad UCF team. They play the College of Charleston before the MU game.
Sagarin has Davidson ranked 71. Mercer is ranked 135.
RealTimeRPI has Davidson winning 86-67
EDIT: Mercer is up to 128 in Sagarin. Davidson is now 81.
Vegas is showing a 10 point line. Sagarin has it an 8 point line.

Davidson had a close call against College of Charleston but they won 82-81.

Down by 5 at the half.
We seem to be playing Davidson ball and not Mercer ball. The pace of the game has been very slow. Very little penetration. It is becoming a 3 point shootout. In a 3 point shootout, Davidson wins.
Granted, it is hard to penetrate Davidson's zone what with their big guys,but we do not want to get into a 3 point shooting contest with Davidson.

The Bears had to fight their way out of a big hole.
71-77 final. But the final score doesn't tell the story. It was much closer at the end. Fouling turned it into a six point loss.

Was not able to view it but seemed like a good game. Obviously never content with a loss, but against a program like Davidson, on the road, that's not a BAD loss.

I was very happy with the way the team battled back from being 16 points down. You just can't dig yourself that big of a hole against a quality opponent. Still, a lot of positives to work on moving forward. Go Bears!
