Jelks is in full beast mode so far this season. Was at the Auburn game and he just pushed guys around. 15 or so boards at Auburn. Then he went 20 and 15 against Arkansas, I think? That's legit.

Correct. He's playing much bigger than his 6'6" self. He's in the mold of a Charles Barkley. I'm hoping he can keep up this play.

I guess this will be the Ohio State game thread. This will be a good test. Honestly, I don't think the Bears have a good chance against the Buckeyes. Game is on ESPNU. I will be watching.

Nice preview of the game here"Breaking down the Bears: Mercer is coming off a 69-66 overtime win over Arkansas on Saturday ... Senior guard Jestin Lewis scored 21 points and grabbed nine rebounds in the win over the Razorbacks, and is the Bears leading scorer with 12.6 points per game this season ... Sophomore forward Stephon Jelks had 20 points and 15 rebounds in the win over Arkansas, his fifth double-double of the season ... The win was Mercer's 10th win over a high-major program in the last eight seasons ... Mercer is 1-2 on the road this season, but has the 11th most road wins in the country since 2011-12 with 36 ... The Bears shoot 45.5 percent from the field, 34.1 percent from 3-point range and 71.5 percent from the free throw line ... Mercer is tied for 10th in the country in rebounding margin at +10 ... The Bears are scoring 73.3 points per game, while allowing 62.4 points per game, which is ranked 27th in the country ... Mercer is ranked No. 136 in the KenPom efficiency ratings."

I think that Mercer could beat Ohio State on any given day, and I think it's the perfect time for Ohio State to overlook the Bears. I'll be tuned in on ESPN U as well. A couple hours to game time!

These refs are all Ohio State grads, apparently.

These must be NBA refs. Continuation basket just called for the Buckeyes.

We couldn't be playing worse. As usual, we give up the run to start the 2nd half. Same thing killed us against Auburn.

Down 44-30 right now. Mercer lead the game 20-13. That's a 31-10 spurt by Ohio State..
Early foul trouble was the big problem. Some questionable calls, and then when Mercer fouled it was weak. We allowed them easy baskets on touch fouls.
This team was down by a similar margin to Davidson at this point in the game, there's still time for a run!

Not gonna happen. Falling behind by about 20 with 4 minutes to go. The final 25-30 minutes of this game were horrendous. The good news is that this is the first time that Mercer has been blown out this year. I'm sure they can regroup and come back strong from this one. Plenty of film from this one.
