I kept saying all game, this is the same old story.. teams can only beat Mercer by hitting a huge percentage from 3-point land. That's exactly what Wofford did, but luckily it was 1 point too few. They couldn't miss from out there.... Great job Bears to hang in there for the win.

The most exciting round ball in the state is played at Hawkins Arena. The write up in the paper said 4500 in attendance? I thought it only held 3500.

The announcers said on the Tv broadcast that Mercer leads the SoCon in attendance.

Official attendance was 4,502, if I'm not mistaken. Throughout the ENTIRE game, there were people several rows deep standing around the entire top bowl of the arena. The attendance was a record for Hawkins. Great atmosphere, especially right there down on the court.

There were times that the crowd was so loud whistles couldn't be heard. One instance was the goaltending against Wofford. Awesome atmosphere.

The shorthanded Bears head to Spartanburg on Thursday, February 11. Game starts at 7:00 on ESPN3. Sagarin has it a pick em. Procappers has the Terriers winning by one in OT. |

It's gonna be a tough road game for sure. Wofford has been lights out from 3-point range lately. Wouldn't that mean they are due to miss a few!?! Haha. The good news is that the Bears defense is a bit better than VMI's.
