I've seen multiple sources that this afternoon Jibri Bryan, Sr. Guard from Savannah, was shot and killed in Macon.
I'm so heartbroken for his family, friends, coaches, teammates and the Mercer family.
Rest in Peace, Jibri.

Jibri was shot at a gas station a few hours ago. He has died. Say a prayer for his family. He was a fine young man.

So incredibly sorry to hear about this...breaks my heart even more to see his twitter profile with a picture of his 2 year old son (the same age as my only child).
I am sure I speak for all Moc fans in saying that our thoughts go out to his son, his family and the Mercer basketball team in this time of sorrow.

I'm still in shock for this. I said a prayer for Jibri. He'll be missed! Just scrolling through Twitter you can see how many people he's impacted in a positive way.

I know what you guys are going through. The Wofford community lost basketball player Jeremiah Tate this past summer due to his drowning at a camp under somewhat mysterious circumstances. I feel for the Merecr basketball team and the Merecr Universirt community. This is a terrible tragedy and this sort of thing happens far too often today. People don't think before acting, and there are some who are simply selfish people with no compassion for others. My thought are with you guys today.

NBC has the shooting listed as the 6th biggest story of the day.
I just hope that it doesn't get lost in the reporting that Jibri was a good guy who was loved and respected by all who knew him.

There was a moment of silence for Jibri before the start of the Chattanooga / Wofford game tonight.

There was a moment of silence for Jibri before the start of the Chattanooga / Wofford game tonight. That is awesome. Props to the Mocs for that, and we will remember your thoughtfulness.

Yessir!! - you know what?...in my 1st run-through of the SoCon in the late 70's to early 80's, I viewed Chatt much the same as I did/do Marshall...pretty much a 'rogue' program (my perspective is 95% football-based) under Joe Morrison - GOOD...but rogue...just like Marshall was/is....and that included their fans. BUT....from what I've seen in the past 2+ years, Chatt just may be the classiest school in the Conference - Their fans were great when we visited up there in 2014. Their team plays with class (yep - they talk some junk (on the field)...but I think, unfortunately, most Teams do today)...Even in the HUGE upset in Macon last year, I saw and heard nothing but 'class' from their Players and Coaches...and most Fans. Basically, "We told you Mercer was a good team and they beat us today." That's it - no, "we beat ourselves," "the refs totally screwed us," "we shoulda won by 30," "the pre-game prayer made us play bad" or that kind of crap that I hear/see elsewhere. Sure they said they didn't play as well as they would have liked or could have (they didn't), but that's not an excuse..that's just speaking the truth...and they always followed that type of statement with props to Mercer. For those of us that frequent AGS, I even like Chattttttttttttownmocs. I think s/he's funny and, when not being intentionally bombastic, s/he actually has some pretty solid insights. Keep it up Mocs...certainly, in recent years, have proven to the be the class of the SoCon on the gridiron and right up there on the hardwood also...and just 'showing class' all-around in this old FUBeAR's eyes. Proud to compete with y'all!

Jibri's high school class has set up a go fund me site to make donations to Jibri's son. MU should do something like this too.

Essentially, Rule 404(b) prohibits evidence of prior crimes, wrongs, and bad acts. Specifically, "[t]he prosecution in a criminal proceeding shall provide reasonable notice to the defense in advance of trial, unless pretrial notice is excused by the court upon good cause shown, of the general nature of any such evidence it intends to introduce at trial." Apparently that was never done.
