Just to echo, I don't think I've ever seen a worse call in a football game in my life. Unbelievable that the guys were able to overcome that. HUGE! GO BEARS! Actually, this may have been the turning point if the game (season?). After the worst call in history ever ( WCIHE), the defense played lights out. Blitzing and getting to the QB. Totally different game plan than first half. Offense stepped it up as well. Not as much as the defense, but it appeared that we finally played with some passion. I think the no huddle helped. I also need to give kudos to the coaches for not changing the no huddle after getting the lead.

I talked with a Mercer official last night about the three horrible calls that did not go our way. The two pass interference penalties anf of course "the call". They were going to call the SoCon office again on Monday. They also said that the SoCon office apologized for the 6 blown calls they missed against the Citadel. I dont know how those guys slept last night.

They were going to call the SoCon office again on Monday. They also said that the SoCon office apologized for the 6 blown calls they missed against the Citadel. I dont know how those guys slept last night. REFEREE - Larry Adcock - Supported/Endorsed the call after an Officials' on-the-field conference convened immediately after the play was shown on the video board and was so clearly in error. The play was shown again during their discussion. I know the SoCon does not "officially" use video replay/review, but Mr. Adcock KNEW the call was wrong, had an opportunity to overturn it, ostensibly, as a result of that conference, and made the decision to let a HORRIBLE, potentially game-changing call stand in order to protect Mr. Mock, instead of protecting the integrity of the game. UMPIRE - Joe Golob - also was the Umpire on the crew for the Mercer vs. The Citadel game and would have been the Official in position to call many/most of the illegal blocks that were continually uncalled in that game, but were called on The Citadel the following week 3 or 4 times early in their game against Furman. The Citadel was also called for these illegal blocks a couple of times against Gardner-Webb this week. LINESMAN - Perry Clark LINE JUDGE - Terry Mock - made the completed pass, TD call BACK JUDGE - Jay Neal FIELD JUDGE - Gary Wiley SIDE JUDGE - Keith Johnson

I think we should push for drug testing the officials. I can't imagine any other reason they could be this horrible.
