There will be a secret meeting tomorrow, somewhere in the Metro Atlanta area, as BearDownMU, Ursus, and FUBeAR convene to complete their FCS Playoff Bracket. The results of this meeting will be the Official Entry that will be in competition with many of the best-informed and best minds in the world of FCS Football. A lot of PRIDE is on the line here!!!
Anyone have any hot tips, inside information, visions, premonitions, divinings, etc. that they would like to share? Or...just your thoughts on the Bracket...like to see those as well!
We will be completing and submitting the entire bracket tomorrow - from Round 1 on Saturday thru to the Championship Game in Frisco, TX on 1/7/17. So, for example, if you know that Weber State's Defensive Coordinator was at Sam Houston State last year, stole their Playbook/Signs, and you have them meeting later in the tourney, THAT is info we can use!
THANKS!

Double Secret meeting was a success. We engaged WOPR (the super computer from War Games), FUBeAR's analytical skills, Ursus' practical and recent college football player opinion, and came up with a bracket we feel pretty good about.
My contribution was writing stuff down. We'll see tomorrow if all that brain power came through for us.

Looks like the SoCon teams are pretty much following the line. 3 teams in the second round should validate the decision to put four SoCon teams in the playoffs. I just wish Woffy and El Cid could put off a showdown for another week or so.

Wow the PFL won a playoff game! That's huge for them. Congrats. Yep - it was a fun game to watch. Muddy field and the players all caked in dirt. Cal-Poly - the 4th Place Team in the Big Sky, er, I mean Big Lie Conference - had a Defense that couldn't stop a stiff breeze. In fact, it looked as if SD was often running reps 'on air' against them. Yes - this is the same Cal-Poly Team that beat the MVFC Champion, South Dakota State...who beat North Dakota State. And the 3rd place Big Lie Team with a 6-2 Conference record was Weber State - the Team that Chatty, the 3rd Place SoCon Team, stomped a mud hole in yesterday. And the other 2 Teams from the Big Lie Conference are the #2 Seed and the #7 Seed...coming from a conference that apparently is quite an assortment of cupcakes. The CAA had a decent day, going 3-0, but, of course, the Committee took care of them, by matching them up with Teams from the MEAC, the NEC, and the Patriot League. I'm telling anyone that will listen, the SoCon should have had 5 Teams in the Playoffs and, 2 of them, at least, should have been seeded! Instead, only 1 Team was seeded and the Top 2 Teams (by record) in the SoCon will now play each other in Round 2. There's only 1 other match-up of Conference opponents in Round 2 - Richmond and New Hampshire. Richmond lost to William & Mary (who lost to former SoCon whipping boy, Elon) to finish their regular season and New Hampshire lost to Dartmouth, whose conference record was 1-6 as they finished in last place in the Ivy League. Even though the SoCon DID get 4 (well-deserving) Teams in this year, the Committee still found a way to 'take care of' their 'darling' MVFC, CAA, and Big Lie Conferences with their seedings and match-ups, while hosing the SoCon.

Honest question, but what is your argument for Mercer to get in? Their 6 wins came over teams with a combined 18-48 record. Mercer did not beat a single team with a winning record this season. Other than just opinion that Mercer is a stronger team than some other conference's playoff team, what did they do to earn a post season ticket? I think it'd be great for the SoCon to get 5 teams in, but I'm actually surprised they managed 4 after Samford wet the bed against ETSU.

Honest question, but what is your argument for Mercer to get in? Because Fair enough. That's about the only argument I could come up with.

Long way to go, but, I gotta admit. It feels good.
And, as I said, BearDownMU, in this case, is me, FUBeAR and Ursus.
There's no "I" in TEAM!
