For the February 4 game, Furman is favored by 1.2 points. Furman just cracked the Mid-Major Top Twenty - Men's Mid-Major Top 25 - 1/30/17 and is tied with ETSU for 1st Place in the SoCon.

Been a fun ride to this point. Thought about trying to make this one, but family coming in to town Pretty sure Mercer's Campus has been declared a "Jackal-Free Zone" by now, anyway; so you're good.

Mercer has Furman mismatched inside. They should slow the pace down, work the ball inside, and play tenacious defense against the three. If Mercer does not commit a lot of turnovers, focuses on defending against the 3 (particularly Sibley), and takes advantage of their significant size advantage, Mercer should easily win this game.

Everyone has Furman mismatched inside. Our tallest starter is 6'6.

Yet in spite of the height mismatch, Mercer collapsed its defense to focus on Furman's inside game. It seems there is a paranoia, or lack of trust, paid Mercer's interior defenders (even though they are very impressive by SoCon standards). This has seemed to be a consistent theme, leading to Mercer having virtually no outside perimeter defense, allowing its opponents to score three's almost at will throughout the season.

Bump for January 6, 2018 game.
Would be a good time for the Bears show that they can win a game on the road against a good team.

Furman has some business with the Charleston Bulldogs first, but this should be a good matchup.
