Just got back from macon watching the show today. Bears are out of the Den and lookinh to eat. Good showing today, especially on offense. We were successfully moving the ball up and down the field. Offense probably got this one, but D has the play makers to be stiff this year. Great performance at the QB spot by all that got reps. TE's were awesome and OL more than held it's own with pass and run blocking (impressive). WR did well congrats to all but #80 especially had a strong day. Cant wait to see more.

I heard FR RB Devezin looked BeastMode good. Yes?

Yes, #34 was running hard and look very good. Had a long break away TD i think. Other RB did well, OL was creating holes for them all. Good O showing.
Special teams look good, gotta iron out a few wrinkles in the punt (dog) team. Cole Fisher was solid.

The offense looked solid. I'm wondering if the defense was looking a little slow for a couple reasons: 1. The heat- it got hot after the rain went away and those guys usually have to do a lot more running 2. The 20 minute rain that came through might have taken some juice out of them because they had to re warm up. 3. The first two teams we play run a triple option style offense so I'm guessing they have been working on stopping that a bit so going against our own more balanced offense might have taken them some time to adjust.

Jacksonville runs the TO? I'm not sure that they run GT/Wofford/Citadel style, but their website says spread option and mentions A/B backs. Their HC was the OC at Army 2009-2013. They averaged 49 rush attempts per game last year. Citadel averaged 65, Wofford 56. We averaged 41, but also had an average of 33 pass attempts. JU only had 19 per game. So I'm gonna guess they play kind of a hybrid.

Last year was his 1st year & he had the legacy of Kerwin Bell's Sling-it-Every-Play O...so I imagine they made do with the talent they had & threw it more than they will as they get 'their guys' in place. So, short answer - Yes, JU runs the TO...and I expect it to be bellhop-flavored...with a fishy smell.

I think he falls more on the Rich Ellerson tree and Ellerson was the DC at JU last year, but doesn't show up anywhere on the staff list now.

I see; so, I guess it was more of a grafting of the Cal-Poly (where Ellerson & Shields were before Army) / Army branch of the TO onto the TO Tree left behind by Houston. I guess L-R Bears fans had become like GaSou fans: "TO or Die" and they didn't want to go the route GaSou did (or get the results) when they hired Hatcher...and...with that all said, JU will, most likely be running a healthy dose of TO Offense that will have flavors of CalPoly Aggies, Army Mules, will appear most similar to what we have seen out of the Bellhops for the past 3 years...and it will smell like fish. 🐬
