Per FUBeAR's typical logic, since ETSU beat Mercer by more than Wofford, and in his mind Mercer was #2 in SoCon since they barely lost to Wofford, I guess ETSU is now #2 in his mind???

I'm not quite sure where you point to coaching. But, to me the big culprits were:
10 penalties for 95 yards, several of them drive extending
2-10 on 3rd down. That's atrocious
-1 on turnover margin. 0 takeaways
Missed Extra point and a missed 35 yard field goal.

I'm not really sure how to dissect the defense, to be honest. You would hope holding a team to 20 would win you most games, but we did give up nearly 400 yards of offense. Herink completed 78% of his passes. After Stidham completed something like that last week. I mean, I get there is a bend don't break kinda component, but if we keep that up, Sammy and WCU are going to throw for 500 yards each when we play them.
We held them to 2.5 yards per rush but they threw it all over the yard. Also, they were 6-14 on 3rd down. We also had 3 sacks and 12 tackles for loss.
Ugh. I'm just so tired of these.

But I'll get into to it if you're sincere. The 4th Q drive on the missed FG. Mercer is gashing ETSU with the run. Leggett's on fire. So they decide to take him out. Ugh. Stupid, Stupid. Then it is first down on the 25. ETSU is tired. Haven't stop the run yet on the drive. Gains of 5/10/15 yards. Even Tee is running well. So what do we do? Go for the home run ball in the end zone. Stupid, Stupid, Stupid. Totally killed the drive ended the momentum. Game totally turned around at that moment. Lamb got greedy. Could not be patient. A short pass here is perfect, but the home run ball? stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid!!!! |
