So if I'm looking at the standings/schedule correctly, if Furman loses one game in the next three weeks and Mercer wins out the next three weeks then we would clinch the SoCon autobid after beating Chattanooga? FUBeAR, you rooting hard for THE Citadel this week?

Interesting scenario though...I plugged a version of that into my handy-dandy SoCon Standings Calculator...and if...Mercer wins 3 in a row and then loses to Furman, Furman wins all 4 remaining and Samford wins all 3 remaining...we have a 2013 style 3-way with a round robin of wins...Mercer over Sam...Sam over FU...FU over Mercer....that means the tiebreaker goes to the 3 Teams' record against #4...which could be Woffy & ETSU tied...but Woffy beat them...so probably Woffy...who all 3 would have beaten...so then it passes to ETSU...who Sammy and Mercer, would have beaten, but FU lost to....so FU falls out...then it goes back to Head-to-Head between Mercer and Sammy...and MU gets the bid over Sammy...and over FU...who would have just beaten the Bears in the final week of the season...and probably neither Furman nor Samford would get a bid at 6-4 and 7-4 (only 6 D1 wins)....so SoCon would be a 1 bid league (Mercer)....OH LORDY....would that LIGHT UP some people!!!!!!!!! |

Ryan Lovelace expected to get first start for WoffordIt’s official now, Wofford will be without Starting RB, Jr. #11 Blake Morgan, tomorrow. Morgan is Wofford’s 4th leading rusher & leading receiver this season. Last year against Mercer, Morgan amassed 108 yards of total offense as he had 10 carries for net 40 yards and 2 receptions for 68 yards. He also scored Wofford’s go-ahead & game-winning TD from 2 yards out with 3:34 left to play. In 2017, Morgan was Wofford’s 3rd leading rusher & top receiver for the entire season. As we know, Wofford also will be without their Starting Placekicker/Punter, Luke Carter, tomorrow. Carter, was a perfect 4 for 4 on XP’s vs. Mercer last year and punted 7 times for a 43.0 yard average with a long of 49. He did not attempt any FG’s in that game. This season, Carter is leading the SoCon in Punting with a 44.6 yard average (0.1 of a yard ahead of Mercer’s Matt Shiel) and has been perfect on all of his XP attempts. Carter’s replacement last week had a 32.0 yard punting average and was 1 for 2 on his XP attempts.

Defense making a stop on 4th and 2 is a good sign. Offense needs to score to thank the defense. Surprised Wofford didn't go under center.

2 stops on 4th and 2. No points. They get 2 big plays and now 14-0. Not ideal. Need points on this drive or gonna get ugly.
