Thanks for your blog. I'd like to add my 2 cents worth that Mercer is 56-6 at Hawkins arena since the start of the 2011-12 season. Capacity is listed at 3300 but the past few games have drawn 3500 to over 4000. Macon is definitely a tough place to win for the visitors these days. Just ask Seton Hall.

I agree. Going to Mercer is going to be tough for every SoCon school. Due to many SoCon schools not having played there yet or, if they have, not having a long history with the place, that probably hurts people's views on playing there.
In a year or two, I expect Mercer to be listed as a place no one wants to go.
Mercer has a huge three game set coming up- at Western Carolina, home against Chattanooga and at Wofford. Per Ken Pomeroy, Mercer is an underdog in the two road games and a favorite in the home game. Personally, I hope they beat Western and that both Chattanooga and Wofford win both games this weekend. That would make Mercer's schedule next week the best it could possibly be- a three way tie for first with Mercer playing both teams they are tied with.

Hawkins has been a tough place for teams to win. Was pleasantly surprised to see Furman keep it within 3 last week. Ladies won there yesterday ni a comeback.
