Starting 'in the hole' this week also, huh....just like you did when you picked APSU to beat Mercer outright. Heck, if you were picking against the spread and went with Mercer laying the points (11.5, I think it was), you STILL would have been right. I tried to tell you that was NOT a good pick.

I'm stunned about ETSU. I've watched both of their games. I'm holding back any comments until I get more evidence, however, it's trending in a scary direction.

I'm not that surprised. They will get there. I think as Mercer fans, we are quite spoiled with the team that has been put together. I believe it is more likely that we've done amazingly well for a start up program than they are failing as a startup.

To add to the friendly debate: You honestly think "They will get there"? What evidence could possibly suggest that at this point? We're definitely spoiled with our success... that's not up for debate. With ETSU though, you have to remember they have the advantage of offering scholarships right out of the gate. There's a reason the guy they hired hasn't been a head coach since 2000. They hired Fulmer to find a coach. He then hired an old colleague, as noted in this article from 2013: link |

Saturday, September 121:00pm Mars Hill at Chattanooga (-37) 1:30pm Morehead State at VMI (-22.5) 3:00pm Florida A&M at Samford (-29.5) 3:30pm Furman at Virginia Tech (-35) 6:00pm Western Carolina at Citadel (-3) 7:00pm Tennessee Tech at Wofford (-11) If you are interested, Mercer is a 22 point favorite over Stetson. All home teams are favored this week and there are some big lines. Happy picking! Plus Mercer -22 Glad there is no money on this and that I don't have to make a living picking!!! Although I did get the Mercer game right and that is all that matters.... |
