MACON, Ga. – With the 2015 SoCon schedule slated to kick off for Mercer Football on Saturday evening, Mercer Athletics announced some helpful information on the Bear Walk, parking and tailgating to help make the gameday experience more enjoyable. Fans can also visit MercerGameday.com for full list of Mercer gameday offerings and policies.

GAMEDAY INFORMATION

Date: Saturday, October 3, 2015 | 6:00 p.m.

Teams: Mercer (2-1) vs. Wofford (2-2)

Location: Macon, Ga. | Five Star Stadium (10,200)

FAMILY WEEKEND

Mercer will be hosting its annual Family Weekend from Oct. 2-4. The weekend includes the Mercer vs. Wofford football game, three soccer contests, a University Tailgate, concerts, tours and a host of other activities. BEAR WALK

The traditional Bear Walk starts at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, as the Mercer spirit squads and marching band lead the football team from the Jesse Mercer statue through the heart of campus, Cruz Plaza, and into Five Star Stadium. Fans can line up along the path to the stadium and get a front-row seat to cheer on head coach Bobby Lamb and the Bears.

UNIVERSITY TAILGATE AND PICNIC

As part of Family Weekend, Mercer will be hosting a tailgate party and picnic in Cruz Plaza starting at 3:30 p.m. and running until 5:30 p.m. The tailgate will feature the Georgia vs. Alabama game on a big screen, inflatables and other games, family photo opportunities with Toby and the Mercer cheerleaders as well as a barbecue dinner (must register with Campus Life for the barbecue dinner).

PARKING

Parking is available at several locations throughout campus. General parking lots are available for $10 per vehicle. Click here for the Mercer Football Gameday Parking map.

TAILGATING

Parking lots will open at 9 a.m. for Mercer Football tailgating. No overnight occupancy is allowed in tailgating areas and all general tailgating areas are to be used on a first-come, first-served basis. To reserve a tailgate area in one of the designated locations, please visit MercerGameday.com.

Times of Interest

9 a.m. – Gameday Parking Lots Open for Tailgating

2 p.m. – Men's Soccer vs. Wofford at Bear Field

3 p.m. – Mercer Ticket Office opens at Five Star Stadium

3:30 p.m. – Bear Walk

3:30 p.m. – University Tailgate and Picnic

4:00 p.m. – Mercer Tailgate Show Begins on 97.3 FM The Bull Icons

4:30 p.m. – Stadium Gates Open

5:00 p.m. – The Mercer Football Pre-Game show begins on 97.3 FM The Bull Icons

6:00 p.m. – Kickoff: The eighth edition of Mercer vs. Wofford

I'm only here to compliment your team on a great game and effort. I would've done that whether we won or lost,
because it could have gone either way. The effort and determination of the players on both sides showed what has
made college football great.

I think Mercer is on a good track and is going to make some noise in the SoCon. Good luck the rest of the season.

Great game to the Bears. Would have been nice to get the win, but I am continuously impressed by Mercer's ability to keep clawing for four quarters.

Hate to hear about the injuries. We have been battling a slew of them ourselves. Very unfortunate. Great effort by both teams and kudos to the Mercer Bears for continuing to fight and hang in there even when it looked bleak. To give yourself a shot at a win. And hats off to Wofford for continuing to do what it does and that is fight and scrap. I feel we left way too many points on the field and shouldn't have let the game get to OT. But a lot of that had to do with mercer not quitting and fighting on.

Hope your wounded get healthy quick and wish you the best the rest of the way. I'll keep up with you guys and share info as the season unfolds.

I agree also ,where was the td pass at the end of regulation? our defense we know but our offense and play calling is very suspect, #7 gets in a flow and we call timeouts at wrong times, big plays on D and don't comeback on O and try to make TD plays, put teams away, etc, worried we are becoming a program that has the "will" to win but don't "how" to win. honeymoon is over and if don't fix this we are going to be the "Georgia" of the SOCON.
