Well, no TV, but I got a date with Slick Rick Cameron on radio.
So, sounds like we threw a long pass to Avery and banged it in. TD in 90 seconds. Um, that's good.
Alex Lakes is playing, surprisingly.

Offense seems like it's clicking so far.
*knocks on all available wood*

OK. Well. Three red zone trips. 3 TD's. 21-3 Good Guys.
It really sounds like the offense is doing whatever it wants. DAMMIT I wish I was able to watch this instead of just having radio. lol.
Just a few numbers through a quarter and a 1/3. We have 222 yards of offense at this point. 101 passing and 122 rushing. Tee Mitchell has 74 yards on 11 carries.

WCU QB Troy Mitchell broke off a 65 yard run. Then hits his tight end on the next play for the TD. 21-10 Mercer with 8 minutes left in the 1st half.

Welp, stalled out for the first time. Down in no man's land on the WCU 30 yard line, we went for it on 4th and 6. 47 yard field goal probably too much in wet conditions. Incomplete and we turn it over on downs. Really important we dial up a stop here, as they get the ball in the 2nd half. 3:42 left in the half.

HUGE sack by Tosin and Buehler on 3rd down with about 30 seconds left. Not only was it a 3rd down play, but it also pushed them back to try a 55 yard field goal.
Looks like Western might try a Hail Mary. And it's incomplete!
Bears take it to the locker room up 21-10. Don't know if you could ask for a much better half than that.

Defense does a good job and forces the punt on the opening series of the 2nd half.

They turn right back around and stop us after 1 first down.
Flag on the punt. Illegal block on WCU and they get backed up to their own 10

Trading stops now. They have to punt from their own endzone to Jimmy Robinson. He booms one and we have the ball on our won 38.

I think that's our 4 time going for it on 4th down and Lakes gets it. 1st down at midfield.

Wow. This is completely different from the offense in the 2nd half. We have to punt again. Whatever adjustments WCU made at the half are working as we can't get it going.
Fair catch by WCU on their own 20. 3 minutes to go in the 3rd quarter.

WCU QB Troy Mitchell came out of the game at the end of that series. No idea if he was hurt or not, but we get a stop and they kick a punt with a ridiculous roll. Went 40 yards in the air and rolled another 20. We'll take over on our own 13.

Big 3rd down conversion and that's the end of the 3rd quarter. Well come back at the beginning of the 4th 1st and 10 from our own 30.
And, I have to head off to coach a baseball game, so I'm afraid the live updates will end here. If anybody wants to jump in and keep us posted, that would be great.
Go Bears!!!
