As someone who was a college athlete, NCAA Div I experience in any sport is never the same as high school experience. No matter how accomplished you were. I was those things in HS, too, but my first college inning pitched was on the road @ University of Florida. It wasn't the same. lol Many High School programs hire off campus/off season instructors for many positions. And many high schools refuse to work with off campus/off season instructors in any way whatsoever. I was a Community Coach on the Coaching Staff of a Top 6-A Football Program in GA for 3 years and continue to assist the COACHING STAFF as a 'volunteer consultant' today. The LAST thing they want is some 'guru' meddling with their kids and filling their young brains with ideas that are not in line with what the Coaching Staff expects of their players. Just checked their score from tonight - 48-0 at half (final was too embarrassing to post) and they remain undefeated with no 'gurus' allowed. I'm sure the Mercer Coaching Staff has and will continue to put the players on the field that they believe will give them the best chance to win every game they play!

I think there are certainly physical adjustments depending on sport/position. You can't convince me, regardless of private coaches or whatever, that playing linebacker or QB in competitive scholarship football is that same. But, wither way, I'm not talking about crowds, the mental component alone makes it different. New teammates, consistently better opponents and competition, different environments, more complex schemes. It's just way different, in my opinion.

As I have said numerous times, the individuals with most at stake every game is the coaching staff. Sure, everyone wants to win, but for most of the players, they get their education and move on to other things. For the coaches, though, this is how they feed their families. They have every incentive in the world to play the best players possible and try to win every game.

Dear FUBeaR, We use them "gurus" down here in South Georgia. All our sports/teams have access to several of them who all hold National Association of Sports Medicine (NASM) Certifications. We have seen a surprising improvement as they monitor and track the students endurance. They streamline workouts by position which we have found keeps them on the field longer. With todays up tempo game gassed players are more prone to injury. We also have a qb and receiver coachs outside the program that run the 7-on-7 system. Coach loves it. His staff has more family time. All of the above proudly funded by our TD Club. You know "all we gots down here is football". Continued success with your regular season. See ya December 4th I think. Go PACKERS
