Game is underway. Two series in the books for the Mercer offense and we just can't seem to get anything going. We have been so efficient on offense the last couple of years and it's pretty frustrating. I haven't heard anyone from the program say anything, but #67 (Offensive Guard) being out with an injury hurts us big time, in my opinion. Been much tougher getting things going since he went down.
And, we just got another stop on D. Don't want to jinx it, but it sure looks like we are dealing with their offense at the moment. I know it's only been two series, but looking good so far.
Also, I haven't said anything in the last couple of weeks, but where in the world is #38. Big, clutch play tight end for 2 years now and he's be persona non grata the last few weeks. And I have no idea why. We had a long 3rd down try on the first series and we're hitting Sam Walker on an out route. No offense to Walker, but he's a freshman I think and Brown has been huge.
Kinda the same thing in last weeks game when we were driving to try and tie. We threw a wheel route to Walker. I just don't understand why #38 isn't the target there. Anyway, I'm not a coach, just seems strange that such a huge contributor has disappeared seemingly all of a sudden.
And, as we speak, #38 is in and Russ had him in the font of the end zone and threw it behind him.
And, per usual, the ESPN announcers are tough to listen to. One of them was a Citadel football player, so you might imagine how he tends to lean.
