VMI @ The Citadel (-24) Clark Atlanta @ Samford (-50) Furman @ Western Carolina (-8) And just for the sake of interest, Mercer is a 16 point dog. First! ...and Bears win outright by double digits. So let it be written... Update: Just watched some of Woffy @ VeeMee on ESPN3 and changed my pick. For full disclosure, so I am not accused of some sort of UnFUBeAR-like shenanigans, I will 'splain my reasoning. Believe it or don't! VMI lost their very athletic (former TE) Left Tackle vs. Wofford. I don't believe he returned, but my ESPN feed was screwing up, so I'm not sure; but even if he does play, I imagine he will be limited and I expect the Bellhops will test that early if he's in there. VMI's starting Center vs. Mercer (and all prior games in 2015) did not play vs. Woffy and is not listed on the 2-Deep this week. 1 starter out on the O-Line is BAD. 2 out can be devastating, particularly as important as a LT and C are to a sling-it-around Offense. That said, I don't think, from what I've seen, VMI's QB nor their O-Line handle HEAT (5 or 6 rushers) very well at full strength, much less hurt. As an example, by my count, Mercer rushed 5 2x in the 1st half in the Bears game with VMI and the QB & WR kind of shredded them. In the 2nd half, I think I got to 13x of sending 5 or 6 before I stopped counting...and the QB threw 2 bad picks, was heavily pressured/sacked multiple times, and the Keydets were shut out. The Citadel's DL, LB's, and Safeties are solid athletes and they know how to dial up a good blitz (witness Mercer allowed 4 sacks in 7 games and then 4 vs. El Cid). The LuggageHandlers are gonna HEAT UP the Roos early and often...and we will see some picks and sacks made by the boys in baby blue or navy or red or white or gray or whatever they've decided their colors are this week. On the other side of the ball, while both Mercer and ChuckSouth did a pretty fair job of slowing down the BullPups (sans an 83 yard play when Mercer's D-Line made a mental mistake and left the A & B gap on the same side completely open) and, thus, gave the Keydets a pretty good video manual of how to play D vs. the WingT Option, I just don't think, despite having some very good players, that the Kanga's D is going to be able to withstand what the more Southerly pretend soldiers are going to throw at them down after down. They have too much on the line for a let down and they are pretty good at what they do. BoysOfSamsonite will need a score or 2 from their D to cover the 24 points, but my thinking right now, is that they get those and make FUBeAR look SMART!

Samford / Clark Atlanta results should not be counted this week as the game was shortened by 5 minutes per agreement of both teams. While I actually am certain that another 5 minutes on the clock would have enabled Samford to score the few additional points needed to make my prediction correct, I am willing to accept expunging the result as a reasonable accommodation.
Start of Quarter #4
2nd and 10 at SAM45 Start of 4th quarter, clock 10:00.
