App St. has one guy that scores a TON, and he did all he could tonight. Eaves scored 31 points on 50% shooting. BUT Mercer pulls out a stunning last second victory with a final score of 71-70!!! I was drained at the end after listening on the radio. The script has been the same all season it seems.. teams can't get into the paint against Mercer, so they have to put up a ton of 3's. Tonight, the opponent just happened to get red hot from 3-point land by going 13/29 for 44%. The good news? Mercer still won the game while allowing that huge total. Go Bears!! Great heart by this team to not give up and kept fighting to the end!!

I wanted to add... I love the fact that teams are forced to shoot 3's against Mercer. So far on the season Mercer has taken 88 three-point shots, while our opponents have taken 162. Nearly double! Let them take them! App State may have hit a high percentage today, but on the season Mercer is allowing 32% of three's to go in. That includes App State's 44% mixed in. Live by the 3, die by the 3!

So it wasn't just me. I too was following the end of the game on ESPN and they had App State winning.

Just checked out Western Michigan's fan forum. Apparently ESPN messed up the Broncos game with SFA as well. ESPN reported that WMU won when they had lost.
