The 8-13 Spartans come to Macon on Saturday. They are 4-4 in conference and currently in 6th place.
They are averaging 73 points per game and allow 75 points per game. Not a good rebounding team.
According to Sagarin, Mercer is favored by 11 points.

I'm glad we get UNC-G at home the first time around. They've been a dangerous team. They competed with Chattanooga for the majority of that game.

That was a fun game! I loved the effort from the Bears! thanks for a great win Bears, in a great atmosphere. Turnovers were limited to only 10. Balance on offense while hitting a high percentage. Controlled the boards. It was all there.

If we beat UNCG then we are sixth in the SoCon. If we lose we are tied with UNCG. Who wins the tie breaker?

If Mercer loses to UNCG, Mercer will finish 8-10 and UNCG will finish 10-8. The only tie breaker is if Mercer wins. Both teams would be tied at 9-9 and Mercer would hold the tie breaker by virtue of beating UNCG twice. Winner of the UNCG/Mercer is the #6 seed and will play Furman in the second round. Loser will be the #7 seed and play the Citadel in the first round. |
