It's finally opening weekend! I've always been excited to watch Mercer baseball, and this year is no exception. I'm really interested in what the starting lineup will be. I don't want to speculate, as I just don't know enough about the new incoming talent.
Radford went to the NCAA Tournament last year out of the Big South.

Mercer won the 1st game of the year with a final of 10-7. It was an exciting game, and Mercer trailed for much of it. Some great plate discipline led to walking in several runs. I've always been pro-walk. In my opinion, the walk is the single must underrated aspect of baseball. Make them pitch if they can't hit the plate!
Game 2 just started.

Game 1: 10-7 WIN Game 2: 8-7 WIN
2-0 to start the year, and both by way of big comebacks. This team is showing a lot of fight.

Bears look for the sweep this afternoon. For those who don't follow a ton of baseball, Radford was 45-16 last year and 20-4 in the Big South. They lost to Vanderbilt in the NCAA Regionals. Exceptionally good baseball team.

Jose Hernandez homers again. He's 3 for 3 today and that's his 2nd HR of the series.
