You gotta hand it to the Mercer baseball team, they've positioned themselves at the top of the conference once again! It's a battle with UNC-G and Western Carolina down the stretch. Mercer beat WCU 2-1 in their series of course, but all that did was tie WCU in the standings. UNC-G is 11-4 in conference as they have played one less series.
I was critical of the Mercer pitching earlier this year and it has clearly improved. The team ERA has moved from the mid 6 range down to 5.85.
It will be an exciting finish to the year with only 11 regular season games left (only 3 at home).
