If this kid is legit I am glad we can put our All American Dee Delany on him in man coverage. Very few guys can burn him. He is tall , fast and athletic and could very well our highest nfl draft pick ever according to some and led the socon in picks last year. OK - Delaney is a heckuva player. As a FR, he 'stayed home' on Mercer's 2 PT conversion trick play, covered the QB (who was trying to 'sneak' out) and tipped away the pass (from Chandler Curtis - he does it ALL!) that would have tied the game and sent it to OT. So, let's say the Bellhops do 'jersey him' in man on #13. Better have another one who's just as good, cuz #15 is pretty good too...and I believe he's even faster than #13. I think he ran a 4.34 in the 40. Chatt fans don't like #13 for 2014 and they hate #15 for 2015... But, I know those Bulldogs are DEEP...and they probably have another guy almost as good as Delaney that they can 'lock on' #15. Well, now they are committed to man coverage all over the field. Got someone to cover this guy - 0:50 & 1:09 of this clip. Not quite as fast as the other 2, but runs GREAT routes and has great hands. Still good? OK...gonna need someone on the 6-3 SO, #8 - long & fast with hops and reach. Began to emerge last last season. For example, he had a 50 yard reception against Chatt. He was a little lean last year, but he's up to 215 now...so he can also be physical, as required. Hey - no worries - the LuggageToters only lost one starter from their SoCon CO-Champ Team's Secondary last year and the guy replacing the one who was lost, I bet, is even better...so they can (probably) LOCK DOWN 4 outstanding receivers in man coverage with no problems, right?... But...here's the problem...Mercer also has 2 TE's (#38 & #87) that have proven they can separate from the best LB's and Safeties in the Conference, make catches, and get YARDS. - More videos are available of these 2, but I'm tired... My point, and I know I had one...was that no one is even talking about Chandler Curtis because of the other Bears who excelled in 2015. Oh yeah...I almost forgot, Mercer ran the ball almost 70% of their plays in 2015. So, there's ALSO...that.

If true, it's probably cause they want to give the 4.3 40 guy more touches and more opportunities to get in the open field.

The guy was lost in the defensive backfield is now playing for the redskins . He was a big loss, but yes we are deep as we have ever been in the defensive backfield . They don't run 4.3s but are fast for our standards ....
Your offense sounds like they are as good as Clemson . Everybody is big and fast . How they heck did you finish .500 last season ?? Our game would not have been as close if not for our turnovers. The bad news for the SoCon is out ex head coach was a good coach , but he was an even better recruiter. His recruits have played very little as most of our starters last year were from the previous staff. A lot of Houstons recruits will make their debut in Macon next week and are a notch above our previous staffs players .

His recruits have played very little as most of our starters last year were from the previous staff. A lot of Houstons recruits will make their debut in Macon next week and are a notch above our previous staffs players . You gotta work more on that reading comprehension thing and really think thru some of the statements that you make... One WR is good sized (#8) and the ONLY one I mentioned anything about size-wise. The other reasonably tall one (#84) is still a little lean, but he's probably gained 10-15 lbs. since last year. Chandler Curtis, #13, is not a big WR (5-11 202) and #15 is anything but "big" at 5-8 179. I guess those could be "big" compared to sizes in the Church League Football you said you follow. Both modern-day Bellhops vs. Bears games could have turned on any number of things - turnovers is one of those, but also a single mental error by a backup D-Lineman; Coaches' decisions to punt or not; slightly tipped passes; an unseen, wide-open receiver in the endzone on a 2-pt conversion; an uncalled, blatant helmet-to-helmet hit; numerous uncalled procedure penalties, or the noticeable absence of an injured All-SoCon OLman (2 sacks in 2014/4 in 2015 and numerous QB pressures). The final scores of both games were absolutely indicative of the closeness of the contests. Any claim otherwise is pure poppycock.
So, the GREAT players that Coach Houston recruited were not good enough to beat out the not-so-great players that Coach Higgins recruited? But, NOW, 1 or 2 years after they have been in the program, they are ready to play. That's what you're asserting, right? If you think about that carefully, for just a minute, you just might have a good answer to the question you posed in your post above. HINT: Coach Houston's 1st Recruiting Class was 2014. That's the same year that Mercer Recruited their 1st Scholarship Class.

His first class he had to pull together within about 3-4 weeks if memory is correct. While they were equal to or slightly better than Highins the past 2 years is where we have taken the next step to where over half of each class did not pick us fcs schools they choose us over many middle to lower tier fbs programs. Our goal as a program is too red shirt our freshman as they Have their hands full with the rigors of being a freshman and let them learn the ways and get bigger and stronger . Higgins got lucky on a few guys each class but his classes are a far cry from what Houston brought on . When he was hired from Lenore Rhyne I asked him how many our our guys would start for him at his runner up d2 national championship team and he said "none"
As a group there is no comparison to our sophomore and freshman class to our senior class ..Our current sophomores and redshirt freshman wil shock the socon this season .. Combine their talent with a few all socon and all American upperclassmen we will Be better than last season if we keep the ball off the ground...

None I am slow white dude . No chance in my gene pool. HS player if he is lucky one day ....
Remember when you see our 2 deep to notice the sophomores or redshirt freshman and a few true freshman ... They are all a different breed than our upperclassmen.

Different Breed? So, NOT Bulldogs? Great Pyrenees, maybe?
