Tipoff should be around 9 or even 9:30 with the women's tip at 7. I keep seeing it advertised for 8:30, but I don't understand that.
I'm very excited to see our team take the floor! Who will be starters? Who will get significant minutes? A lot of question marks on a roster, because many have never played a minute for Mercer yet.

In other SoCon news, pre-season favorite Chattanooga is beating Tennessee at the half 34-29 UTC is gonna win, up 13 with 4 mins to go. Mercer game as expected might not tip by 9. I guess they wanted to get people in their seats by saying its a 8:30 start time. |

Nice first half. Some rust to shake off, and some crazy lineups out there. Will be interesting how the 2nd half lineups look.
3 point defense is a concern.
We had nice 3 point shooting, but I'd like to see some more play down low with our size advantage.

Well, welcome to the Hawk, Ria'n Holland. 16 points in the first half on 4-6 from 3. Looks like the kid can shoot and isn't afraid to let it fly.
Also, Strawberry with 6 dimes in the first half. Has some good stretches of offensive rhythm in the first half.
Defense, however, needs a little cleaning up. Can't let Brewton Parker put 35 on you in the first half and shoot 45% from the floor.

I get it. Shooting 3's is fun. But we are twice as big as them at every position and we are working the ball inside exactly zero.

Wow. Mercer goes on a 28-0 run over the final 12 minutes of the game. My goodness. Coach must've had a good halftime speech about defense.
