With the addition of Bellarmine, the first year of SoCom Lacrosse will be a bit tougher than the A -Sun version from last year. Richmond surprised everyone with how good they became at seasons end. With so many young programs there is a good opportunity for the SoCon to be a formidable lacrosse conference in the near future.

Have y'all seen this year's recruiting class? These guys look unbelievable! 4 All-Americans and 4 others All-State. Looking for big things from the Bears LAX.

We were the best team or maybe #2 in the ASun last year and USAFA absolutely killed us. We were without Baxa however but I don't know how much difference he would have made. I would think Air Force is the odds-on favorite to with the conference.

They don't come in until 2016 though. We have to deal with Bellarmine for the 2015 season. I'm also curious to see if Richmond can sustain the momentum they had at the end of the season.
I'd like to see them add one more school. I'd like to see 9 schools to give everyone the same number of home and away conference games in a season .
Mercer will definitely need to step things up the next few years.

Richmond is looking really good this year. They may be the best of the Socon.

Why would schools like Richmond and Boston U be able to start later than Mercer and suddenly have such good programs? Location? Proximity to traditional LAX territory? I feel like we've got the right coach and was really impressed with the credentials of this years' recruits. Maybe just need another year or 2.

They are located in strong lacrosse areas. Not sure if they were able to get transfers that helped or brought in some really good young players that came together quickly.

Mercer is playing one of the toughest OOC schedules in the Socon this year. in the 5 losses 3 opponents were or are currently ranked in the top 25 and the 4th & 5th siena was an NCAA tourney team and conference champ last year. Detroit beat Ohio State. They are better than their record. Boston has the #1 faceoff guy in the country. Duke is Duke. Marquette has been top 20 all year. Compared to last year that is night and day for OOC. IMHO the gauntlet of games we went through at the beginning of the season has helped us in these first two Socon games.

It is a tough out of conference schedule but I think they should have a couple more games on it. 12 total games is a little on the low side. Try to get to 14 games in 2016. With Air Force coming to SoCon next year they will have 7 SoCon games, that will be 7 out of conference games.

I agree. however this year may have been a product of winning the conference last year and teams OOC that aren't very good didn't want to play us. It also may have to do with the large amount of youth we have. I definitely would love to see a 14 game schedule next year.

Air Force will be a nice add to SoCon lacrosse . Mercer gave them a battle today, but couldn't get over the hump. We have a great shot to get the 1 or 2 seed for the tourney. Once in, who knows what will happen.
Go Bears !

Time to focus on beating High Point in the tournament. This is going to be a tough one!
