Bump for 6/7/18 update for Woffy. Huge loss in the backend of the anklebiter’s D Well, my thought on Wofford to this point has been that their defense will carry them. If they start losing defenders, though, my opinion may change. It is a little strange that Wofford has lost two key players the last two seasons as graduate transfers. Perhaps it happens more than I realize, but I do not really recall that being a "thing" in the SoCon. I do not ever remember that happening at Furman, much less in back to back seasons.

It is a ‘thing’ and it’s growing. Mercer lost a starting TE to Clemson in 2016...a bit of a unique situation though. His Dad is the AD at Clemson & he was a “Day 1” Bear. Thus, that transfer gave his family the opportunity to all be together every game in his final year & there really weren’t all that many of the “Day 1’s” left playing in 2016...maybe 10-12 of the original 100+; so, his ‘boyz’ were mostly done at Mercer as well. He also had a shot at (and did) win an FBS National Championship at Clemson. Then, there was the most famous one - All SoCon/FCS All-American DB, Dee Delaney, from CIT transferring to Miami to help his NFL draft prospects...he wasn’t drafted though. I think he signed an UFA deal, while there was a DB drafted from the SoCon...and has been for at least the past 3 or 4 years. It’s sort of the FCS version of the NFL Draft after 3 years redshirt decision conundrum. Do you redshirt them as FR if you have any inkling they might be able to graduate on time AND have the talent to move to an FBS Program for their R-Sr or G-Sr year of eligibility?

But, then again, if he could do it over again, would David Marvin have transferred to UGA if he knew his toe would hit leather 3 times all season? Granted, last year's UGA team is a bad example, perhaps, because they played for a title, but in most seasons, would you trade being an all american for an FCS team playing for a title or a backup on an FBS team that rarely, if ever, plays?
