So proud of each of these young men who took a chance to create a legacy.
They looked at a mud hole and, instead, saw a beautiful stadium filled with excited fans. They looked at a year and a half of hot, grueling practices with no games and, instead, saw a great opportunity to get better at the sport they loved. They looked at a season of 12 games, all of which they were expected to lose while facing far more experienced competition and, instead, they saw victory after victory. They, then, looked at the impossible task of moving up to a much higher level of Football playing 8 games a year in the Conference that had spawned the SEC & the ACC; 8 games a year that they were expected to lose badly and, instead, they saw themselves winning their share of those games, including defeating the #3 ranked Team in the country; in that beautiful stadium and in front of those excited fans that they had envisioned; where other people had just a seen mud hole.
Looking forward to honoring & celebrating the accomplishments of these Mercer heroes this Saturday night as they witness the legacy they created.
