Directly related: Mercer has yet to defeat Samford since restarting their program and joining the Southern Conference (0-4).
Directly related: Last season was a 20-3 Samford win that was only that close because Samford turned the ball over 4 times. Mercer had 191 total yards, and the Devlin Hodges (oh yeah - he is back) threw for 367 yards.
Related: Both teams have played an FBS team this year. Samford led nearly the entire game against a top-25 team (at the time) but ran out of gas and the other team was gifted an INT return for a TD by the refs. The Bears on the other hand found themselves down 59-0 before they finally mounted a scoring drive against the Memphis' cheerleaders who were in spelling the Tiger's 4th team D.
Unrelated: Whatever stuff FUB keeps trying to dig up from the last 4 years in games that did not involve Samford
I will let your response end the thread, as it would appear pretty much every thread on this Mercer board has to be started by or "last post" by FUBeAR.

Directly related: Mercer restarting their program and joining the Southern Conference. Directly related: Last season Sanford turned the ball over 4 times and Delvin Hodges (oh yeah - he is back) threw an interception, was sacked twice, and was flagged for intentional grounding. Related: Both teams lost by double digits to FBS teams currently ranked by Massey between 44 & 56 in the FBS this year. Sanford, after turning the ball over 5 times, ran out of gas. The Bears, on the other hand, mounted 2 scoring drives against Memphis. Unrelated: Whatever...Sanford fyp

At least when FUBeAR trolls you know who it is. I could see San. winning this game big or being hungover from a close game with a rebuilding FSU team. Really comes down to the Bears OL for me. If they can create space for the RBs and give Riddle/Riley a decent amount of time then Mercer should have a shot. If not then we might get to see some 5'6" nepotism.

"We're, maybe, 2 touchdowns better than Florida State." (Note: Sanford, 5 days ago, lost by double digits to Florida State)
Speaking (incredibly condescendingly, IMO...but I guess that's OK when your Team is, "maybe 2 touchdowns better than Florida State") about Mercer...
"You know...I...ah...ah...they're better than they, they, they've been." "They're just now getting back to, you know, where they've got a full complement of scholarships. They've got a lot more depth than they've had."
(NOTE: Mercer had a "full complement of scholarships" (63) in 2017; not "just now." The Mercer Team that Sanford squeaked by (3 points) in 2014 had about 25 Players who were originally recruited as scholarship Players. The Team that Sanford squeaked by (5 points) in 2016 had about 50 such Players. Good thing that the Bears now have those extra 10 or so scholarships, so they can be "ah...ah...better than they, they, they've been." )

Only criticism for 98 MU? That was a GREAT win! That statement was made after the miss during the game. The following attempts were made. Nice win!

Congrats - very nice win for the program, and I assume you now don't have a QB question? You guys looked good and have turned the "power rankings" on their head once again.
