I figured there would be some inbound transfer activity with the shortened timelines and limited early signing period for CDC. A couple have come across the wire this evening.

Someone posted on the alumni site that David Durden transferred you D2 defending champ West Florida. Huge loss for the Bears IMO. I guess his skills don’t fit with the new system at Mercer. Can anyone confirm this?

Can anyone confirm this? This will hurt a little. But with Chronic’s offensive scheme things should be fine. Might take a slight hit on Special Teams, but Johnson played well in Durden’s absence last year. Think both Durden and Mercer will be ok.

I will just really miss watching Mr. Durden play. FUBeAR’s kinda Player - balls out 100% every play, regardless of role - the kind of young man you can establish a culture around - from what I saw on the field. Really think he could have been a bigger Christian McCaffrey type of Player in Coach Cronic’s “Joker” (I think that’s what it’s called) role - a hybrid WR / RB position. FUBeAR called it the “Baller” position back when he was designing a new Offense for the HS he was working with at the time. But - just speculating - he has NFL WR aspirations, wanted to play in an O that throws it 35+ times / game in an RPO style O that features WR’s. Also, just speculating that he might want to “SHOW OUT” in such an O in the 2020 season (rather than sit out, as he would have had to do if he went FBS or FCS)...because is Draft Eligible in the 2021 NFL Draft. Actually, he was eligible to come out this year if he had wanted to. Will greatly miss watching him play, but certainly wish him the best!

Signed a UDFA contract with the Dallas Cowboys last weekend. FUBeAR would not be the least bit surprised to see Mr. Durden become a standout at the next level, as he was at Mercer and West Florida. Apologies for the language in the music accompanying this video#WinnersWin
