From what I heard he wanted big numbers to get noticed for a possible NFL shot. He figured DC’s Wing-T gave him less of a chance than D2 nat champ West Florida and their high flying scheme. As we’ve seen though, this version of Mercer’s offense can still sling it pretty well. |
