The early forecasts for investors this week shows…
Mercer: -16.5 @ Western Carolina (o/u 72.5)
Other SoCon projections:
Chattanooga: -10 @ VMI (o/u 51.5)
Furman: Even @ Wofford (o/u 37.5)
East Tennessee State: -10.5 vs. A Citadel (o/u 59.5)
The Samford bullpups are kenneled at the Vet this week, while they lick their wounds.

Too bad FuBear will not be in Cullowhee to see this. Never said I won’t be there. Was there in 2019, 1981, and 1980. My right ACL will always reside within the turf there from a Catamount cheap shot late hit in 1980. So, FUBeAR is, essentially, always in EJ Whitmire Stadium. Really nice video. Because the rest of it was so good, FUBeAR was able to ignore the silly-looking kitty-cat mascot. |

Did a Mercer @ Alabama & Furman @ Samford double-header in 2017 Almost did a Mercer @ Wofford & Somebody @ Furman another year, but backed out for some reason. Do not like attending games in SparkleCity - pretty much 0-fer the lifetime there, including getting whipped like a gubmint mule in 1979 by an NAIA Terrier Team…and the Woffy visitors side reminds me of a bad HS Stadium. |

Hopefully, the SoCon Office overturned the insanity below & we’ll see Mercer’s All-American LB, #3 Isaac Dowling, starting the game & playing in the 1st half against WCU today!

Only way I think you could keep that is because his arms were back and he lead with the head. I don’t agree with the call at all, but I would almost guess that’s what they say. Terrible! Best of luck to the Bears today. Should be a nice trip home! |

WCU went a few steps backward against G-W and, despite demonstrating some timely opportunism against Chatt, still are not close to where they need to be or where they will be in the future. With their injuries & other factors in play, they won’t pick up win #1 this week. Mercer is playing well & smart in all phases. FUBeAR loved the 3-3-3 deep/2-man on the outside WR’s they used almost every play against Samford. Loved how they stayed with their plan & did what they had to do to win. It wasn’t perfect, but it was smart & it was enough. The O-Line & other blockers (Jokers & TE’s) are jelling, learning the timing & angles of the Cronic O, and should do nothing but improve with reps as the season progresses. QB can do what he needs to do & they have the RB’s & WR’s to distribute the ball, as needed. Cats will fight on Homecoming, but they are outmanned. Also, Coach Cronic is 0-1 vs. Coach Bell and owes a little payback for a 40 point pasting in 2018, which included WCU’s current QB throwing the ball, up by 40, late in the 4th quarter.
