The amount of transfers out (and into) the Mercer program is massive. There's no season like this on record I believe. Greg Gary is getting one more chance and he's giving it his best shot. Verbal Commits shows one more transfer that I believe puts the team at the full 13 scholarships.
I count 5 returning players, including the best player on last years team in Jalyn McCreary. Keeping McCreary gave the Bears something huge to build around.
Add 3 incoming freshmen, and that leaves 5 more scholarships.
Now we have 5 transfers that have come in:
G 6'4" Robby Carmody (Notre Dame)
G 5'10" Caleb Hunter (Miss Valley St)
F 6'8" Alex Holt (High Point)
C 7'2" Sidy Diallo (Kansas City)
F 6'9" Amanze Ngumezi (Jax State)
I have to say I'm impressed with the roster on paper. I would wager that Mercer has never had this much size, and they've definitely never had this much transfer activity. It will be a season unlike any other.
