They are playing Clark Atlanta this week. Let's see if you stick to your resolution. My new, new rule is to never, ever pick Samford to beat the spread.

Just for fun, Elon is 268, GSU is 272, and App St is 274. So no big loss in basketball that these three teams moved on.
Davidson is another story. They won the A-10 regular season last year and received an at-large to the NCAA tourney. Ken Pom has them at 46. Wise move on their part to move to the A-10. They are excelling in the Top 7 basketball conference with mostly SoCon recruits.

You lost me at UCF stresses academics first. Also, this is not the time for a thread like this. Are you saying that you weren't LOST when the mention was made to look to a team and an OC that is 0-8; has lost to a SoCon Team that currently has a losing record in the SoCon and Overall; that sits dead-a$$ last of all 127 FBS Teams in Total Offense & Rushing Offense, and is 3rd from last in Scoring Offense; and that doesn't even crack the FCS Top 25 in Sagarin or Massey ratings while playing with 23 more scholarships? I admire your reading persistence level C-Econ! I am going to admit I had no idea that UCF sucked that bad this year. It is UCF afterall. Honestly, no one follows the G5 schools unless you are an alumnus of one. In that respect, they are no different than the SoCon or the CAA or any other FCS conference.

A great candidate that would be available is OC from UCF Brent Key. UCF HC George O' Leary just resigned and Key has been under O'Leary for more then 5 years, UCF is a top level G5 program and Key has seen how to develop a program. Academically UCF has been at the top of all FBS programs in GPA and most importantly graduation rate. UCF like Mercer stress academics first. That is why he be a great fit at Mercer to take the MU program to the next level. Key also is a strong recruiter in FLA and Georgia. He's a perfect fit! You lost me at UCF stresses academics first. Also, this is not the time for a thread like this.

USA Today predicts the Bears will finish fifth in the SoCon behind Chattanooga, Wofford, WCU and Furman.

construction.mercer.edu/mu-construction/macon/undergraduate-sciences-building/images/medscience_2.jpgHow do I insert an image? I was going to insert a picture of the new science building and comment that the black roof strikes me as a bad design choice. Silver would have been better. Actually, I think for a science building I would have gone more modern with the design. Lots of glass and metal being used on new college science buildings lately. But it does look better than all the other buildings in that area. I have been thinking about the new science building. I think it is all wrong. It sits in the middle of four horrible late 70s and early 80s buildings that look like they belong in a low-rent office park. It needs to be more bold. The tread on campuses is to have very modern science and engineering buildings. The current design doesn't cut it. I think it also needs to be a "U" and not a "L", something like below. The Penn State building below is $45M for 145,000 sq feet. The current Mercer design is for a $30M 120,000 building.
