Davidson has a non scholarship football team that was in our conference last year- we won. Also, they moved or are moving out of the socon...

Also, they moved or are moving out of the socon… Davidson was in the PFL last year and they are still in the PFL this year. I think the original post just thought it was odd that they are not included in the Pine and Palmetto Sports Poll since other PFL teams in the South are included. |

Davidson has a non scholarship football team that was in our conference last year- we won. Also, they moved or are moving out of the socon... Davidson was a long-time member of the SoCon. They, along with UNC-G and College of Charleston did not field scholarship football teams (the latter two fielded no football team, and Davidson played in the PFL). They joined the A-10 (I think) the same day Mercer joined the SoCon. The A-10 doesn't play football, so I assumed they would continue their PFL presence. |

Looks like they don't cover the A-10.
They cover the SoCon, Big South and Atlantic Sun.
If Davidson had known this fact , they would still be in the SoCon !

My point is that Davidson HAS a football team in the PFL, just like Jax, Stetson, and Campbell. It has nothing to do with their basketball affiliation. And they are well within the footprint of teams listed. I think it was just an oversight, but I think if they include the other 3 they should include Davidson. If nothing else it would make Stetson feel better!

Gotta be in the A-Sun, Big South, or SoCon to be included in the P&P. It's that simple!! CU/JU/SU fit that criteria, Davidson doesn't.
It wouldn't work to have DC in the P&P football poll and not in the P&P basketball poll......and they definitely won't be in the P&P basketball poll.
Congrats on this new Mercer message board!! Good looking banner up top, too! The Campbell board moved from CSNbbs to Proboards in April 2013 and all's well!!

Lol. Also, it's worth noting that Presbyterian beat Furman and Western Carolina. And the only thing that changed from the preseason to this one is Presby moved from below us to above us.
