My apologies, I watched the replay of the game in its complete form on ESPN 3. Also it's been an issue all season with the conservative play calling. I meant I did not watch it live. Sorry for the confusion. Again thank you so much for being a constant listener. I'm impressed that you would take the time to watch the replay. That adds credibility to your analysis. And please stop apologizing. It is also awesome that you and Hayes would come on here and respond to questions.

Just curious as to the "source" of the "rumblings". If it is this site, you are only talking about ONE poster who after many counter arguments by the rest of us similar to the ones on your podcast, he actually changed his mind and agreed with the rest of us. But maybe you are referring to something else. Also, if Jason is admittedly napping during the games, not going to the games or watching UGA on TV instead of MU, just wondering how he forms his opinions? Does he watch the replays? Glad to know that Hayes is either at the games or watching and that he is live tweeting! Also, I know that The Music City Bowl is not the goal of the top teams, but to call it the Toilet Bowl seems a bit harsh. In a realatively short amount of time, it has grown and moved up the SEC bowl rankings. We are kinda fond of it in these parts. Thanks for the podcast. Always great to hear discussions about Mercer Football. I have gone to all but 2 homes games in the last couple years. I have watched all the games on the road except a couple when I couldn't get the feed to work. Also the one I "napped" during was after I had been out shooting photos from 7am to 4pm after being up til 2Am working on box scores for another job. I fell asleep watching the stream on my phone. I watch all the games and I am huge Mercer fan. I live tweet all the games for The Cluster. Hayes filled in when I went out of town for a birthday trip for a close friends and Hayes will fill in again for my birthday. But if you ever see the tweets coming out before the last game they have been me. I've been doing this for over a year now and I've live tweeted for the basketball games as well. During one game earlier this year, I took photos for the story, wrote the story, and live tweeted as my entire staff cancelled on me the day of the game. Trust me when I say this, I am 100% dedicated to Mercer and the football games. Whoops. Looks like I called you Jason in error. I fixed in my original post. Now my turn to apologize......

Haha do not apologize! I have family members that have called me that my whole life apparently it's easy to confuse the two names. Doesn't help that I have a close relative named Jason lol. No worries

Also the toilet bowl comment wasn't aimed at a particular bowl and if I did it was in a moment of being upset. Sorry to offend anyone about the bowl game. Any bowl is a good bowl. I was just naming off random things in a spur of the moment type thing. Again I apologize and will not do it again. Thanks for listening everyone. Ha - you should see some of the characterizations I've come up with for the 'bowl' games that the Suck Blah Conference teams, such as GaSou and Appy, may be 'rewarded' with attending. Why do you think those 2 teams have rocketed to the top of the Sewage Blocked Confluence, when they were barely mediocre SoCon team just a year before they moved down? The rest of the teams KNOW they don't want to be punished by having to keep practicing for 3 extra weeks and then go to the dregs of NCAA post-season 'competition.' So, IMHO, any bowl is certainly NOT a good bowl! 38 just gets feisty when anyone utters anything less than glowing platitudes about anything to do with his beloved NashVegas.

Normally, if I miss a game I stream it when I have opportunity and try and watch it after the fact so that I have a more credible opinion on the outcome of the game.

Also the rumbling are more than just the one post on here. I've heard a couple students and people around the campus question whether he is the right man for the job so it wasn't just on the one person opinion but I felt the need to address it because so many people around campus are critical of how the team is performing and how they aren't meeting expectations. I wanted to take the platform that I have to defend Coach Lamb and this team for the effort that they put in on a weekly basis.

Gotta fight the good fight and not allow Music City to be the next Atlanta!

[br It was nothing at all against Nashville. I promise. I literally started naming off random bowls in my head and that one popped into my head because I have a friend that owns a restaurant up in Nashville,(Dairy King) and I believe I had just read through bowl projections the morning of and that one came to mind. I shouldn't have singled out a bowl.

I thought we did a good job of beating that idea down on this site, but I have no clue with what's being said on campus. Glad to know that you and Hayes have your ear to the ground and are willing stand up on your platform. I've said elsewhere that Mercer is competing with only 1 and 1/2 scholarship classes (since 1/2 of the current freshmen class is redshirted) against other SoCon teams with 4 - 5 scholarship classes. I think that speaks for itself in the great job Coach Lamb is doing.

Nashville sucks. Only in that it is a five hour drive away from Mercer (unless you hit Chatt and Atlanta rush hour)

It's more widespread than just the site and while I got the initial idea to go on a "tirade" about it from here it was mainly from the people that have talked about this since the Bears did not go 10-2 last year after that first year. Just felt it was something that needed to be address. He has done a tremendous job in his first 3 years and we couldn't ask for a better coach. It is controversial because more people believe that this is the case than I care to admit lol.

That comment may be true or not, but I do know that a large contingent of Mercer's undergraduate, Macon-based student body shows up for the games, cheers like crazy from pre-game run-out on and stays until the final whistle, cheering like MANIACS all the while. So the Bears have that going for them, which is nice. I'm not sure there are many SoCon schools (where the student body doesn't carry rifles) that can make that claim...from what I've seen. Of course the Bears have only not visited FU yet. Maybe it's CRAZY-TOWN there for the student body. I have heard it used to be.

I said that singular comment (i.e., why the team is no longer 10-2 despite moving to a much more difficult conference and schedule) indicates that they don't understand much about the landscape of FCS football. The Pioneer League is not the Southern Conference. Playing non-scholarship schools is not the same as playing scholarship schools.
