The point I would make is this. Go back and look at the Pomeroy rankings for Davidson (or the best SoCon team) for each season. I didn't look at pre-tourney rankings, but the year Curry went to the Elite 8, they were much higher by the end of it (maybe aided substantially by the tourney run), but the rest of the time, their ranking falls in line with the Mocs ranking this year so far, more or less.
Plus, the year Davidson had Curry, they had a "close call" in the SoCon Tourney- Elon was right in the game with them in the championship game late. The Wildcats pulled away and won and I can't find a box score right now, just the 16 point win by Elon. But it seems like I remember with about 5 minutes left it being a close game. Davidson always seemed to have a close call in the tourney, even when they were great. Wofford has had them the last two years as well while winning. So, to say the Mocs will have a close call or two in the tourney would make a lot of sense. I would definitely expect it to happen because it always happens. Do the Mocs lock up in the tourney like they did last year? Possibly. Should be entertaining for sure.

While I am too lazy to look it up, I would be surprised if most of those dominate Davidson teams were any closer to the bubble as 'Nooga is now. Also, bracket projection sites have them as a 12 seed with one as high as a 9 seed. That was as good or better than Davidson.

That was a bad night tonight for Chattanooga. I expected that the Mocs would have two bad performances in conference play. This was the second one. Could be another one prior to the tourney. I sure hope not.
