Because the second string guys played the second half of the game or it could have been out of hand, it's not that hard to understand if you leave your first string guys in the you would have probably scored more. We scored on 5 of 8 drives, and could have been another if it wasn't for the FOURTH string Bback fumbling on the 3 yards line. I would say that's pretty much scoring at will. Lol. K. Nothing to say to facts huh? Like I said in my last post to another poster I wasn't trying to down mercer just stating facts, but if you love mercer that much to not realize things like that then ok.... Once again since you must have missed it the first time, I wish mercer the best and hopefully they win out.

And my love of Mercer doesn't have anything to do with it. I'm just saying, if you're telling me that in the game Tech could literally do anything they wanted to. And could "score at will", and the # they put up on the board is 35 points? My only retort to that would be... Have fun with Florida State if "scoring at will" gets you 35 points against an FCS team. Lol It's cool tho bro. We don't have to agree. I've just seen scoring at will. And that wasn't it. Scoring at will was Alcorn State and Tulane last year.

Concessions, parking, stadium workers were fine with me. It was a hot day and we were downtown. Mercer fans showed up well. I was over heated the entire game. Have say this Russ played well as did others. I am going on to TT.

Scoring at will was Alcorn State and Tulane last year. what I'm trying to get at is we only had the ball 8 times and just because you only score 35 doesn't mean you didn't pretty much score at will. Would you say we scored at will if we put up 56 but had the ball let's say 13 times? Because scoring 5 out of 8 times is a higher percentage than scoring 8 out of 13. Or what if we scored on the drive when our B back fumbled and we put up 42, would you consider that scoring at will because if it wasn't for the fumble there's a good chance we would have scored, and that score would have been within two percent of the percentage that we scored on acorn state. What I'm saying is the score isn't a good indicator of being able to score at will, but your percentage is. The difference was y'all did better on offense than alcorn state so we weren't able to get y'all off the field and get the ball back like we were able to do when we played acorn state.

Because of their wildly disrespectful, arrogant, ignorant, and inaccurate assessment of Mercer's Team (see their pre-game comments), I'm sure it helps Tech fans to feel better about their team & themselves to characterize the game as this poster has done, but there's very little, if any, truth in his/her, oh-so-typical (we've seen it since the PFL days), condescending comments above. Doesn't really matter though; Bears went into this game very banged-up, short-handed, and depleted on offense - at ALL position groups (except QB & TE...knock wood). They were really having to 'hunt & peck' out there to manufacture positive plays & 1st Downs. Just couldn't get enough of that done yesterday. That, the successful fake punt, and the blocked FG were the stories of this game. Take the $300k and move on to the next one. There is plenty of truth, GT scored on 5 of 8 drives and should have been 6 but the FOURTH string B back fumbled(I do give props to mercer for pulling it out though) GT did not play its starting QB in the second half of the game at all that's another fact, its not a hit on mercer they came out and played well but we threw for 8 yards per attempt and ran for 7 yards per carry not to mention went 6 for 8 on third down and 1 for 1 on 4th, these are all facts, if you don't call this being able to move or score at will then I don't know what is. Yes we only scored 35 but we only had the ball 8 times minus the drive before the half when we only ran like two plays before the 2nd quarter ended, So please tell me these aren't facts? I wasn't taking hits at mercer at all so idk why you got so defensive, I just stated a few things I even wished y'all good luck did you miss that point? I understand you love your team but don't be blind to the facts. Not blind to anything. I watched the game, from the 1st screwed up kickoff when the 'big-time' ACC officials and clock operators had their heads up the rear-ends of their striped uniforms, until the final whistle. I sure don't need you to try to re-color what I saw for me. GT's starters, except for the injured QB, played until about the last 6 minutes of the 4th quarter. In fact, on Tech's last long drive after the blocked FG, all of GT's starters were in against all of Mercer's backups on defense. Remember Searcy's 25 yard run 2 plays before the GT fumble? Searcy is a GT Starter. He was tackled by a backup CB for Mercer. Just as any team would on a day that hot, GT AND Mercer rolled 2 and 3 deep players throughout the game. I have a sincere compliment for GT also. I think they would have a good chance at being competitive for the SoCon Championship this season; at least they would finish in the top half. Now, go and do the same in the ACC Piedmontal Division or whatever it's called. And I hope you'll have the pleasure of attending the Terminix RentARotoRooter Bowl in Brownsville, TX, if Tech exceeds their record of last season. 4 wins is good enough for a bowl game, right? You saw what you WANTED to see. Now, you've said what you wanted to say. Is there any further reason to keep hanging around?

Wow you named one starter lol, what about the o line and WR's where those starters in? Sorry but you don't know GT team well enough to know if it was starters or not like I don't know if it was yalls starters or not. And let me ask ou this, is it possible that after the facts I have given you are he one that wanted to see what you wanted to see? And going off of a season last year with over 10 different injuries on the offensive side of the ball, if you knew much about GT football you would under stand last year was an anomaly, and I'm sure the ones that know football that are mercer fans would understand that. But we can just agree to disagree, I never came on to talk trash on mercer, I was simply giving my point of view so I apologize if that upset you, good luck mercer in the rest of yalls season.

Not even trying to imply that mercer wasn't better than I ever gave them credit for but Tech did pull the starters at halftime including Thomas who played less than 2 quarters and they even played a former a-back at QB in the 4th instead of the third string QB. Tech also changed defensive groupings everytime the clock stopped. Also, Tech didn't show anything on defense or offense, it was nothing but base plays on both sides of the ball. Tech never brought any pressure other than rushing the front four. Tech needs to hold onto the ball.

Maybe you GT fans should read your own Atlanta papers. The sportswriters lit into Tech pretty hard today.

None of the above. Lines are ridiculous at most stadiums (probably less so at FCS schools), so going at half time is generally a bad idea. Also, the correct spelling of concession is shown in this sentence in addition to my username. Thanks, -Concession Stand Engineer Thanks for the edit! But you failed to also correct the missed open parenthesis. So you only get a 50 on your grammar editing exam. Congrats on your major. I know you will go far in life. Oh, and I've been to every SEC stadium except Mizzou. Never waited more than 10 minutes. Maybe you all could learn a thing or two from Vanderbilt.

The ones that didn't say much about UGA almost lost when they were favored majorly? Oh by the way hard counts are used by every team lol, you might wanna come up with something better than that. We have done nothing but give facts, but everyone just keeps ignoring them because they don't want to hear them lol.
