I was wrong - Western's D didn't figure anything out. Adams certainly looks like he is back and healthy physically and mentally, but WCU again is awful on D and bad on special teams. Congrats on the win and good luck the rest of the way. With the Wofford win you guys are right there.

Please, 8 pound, 6 ounce newborn Baby Jesus, don’t let any of 95’s rantings come to fruition today. And...95...Did I say that betting on College Football games wasn’t my Profession? Anyway, my financial interests are between me, my CPA, the IRS, and, perhaps, a few offshore financial institutions. Enjoy your day in Macon, sir. I hope you & your family love everything about it, except the final score. I suspect you will. You are going to make a great PalaBearAmount one day soon. Then we’ll have 2 Mercer Fans posting here! Sorry, I won’t be there to meet you, but my presence as an Honorary Game Captain (really) has been requested at another venue to the north. #BeatTheCatsAndTheDogs Well, that is classic. The only poster they have will not even attend today's the game in Macon. Where, Cat Fan, did you sit, today, in 5 Star Stadium? Were you able to see the game well?

Yeah, with all those thousands of empty seats I had my choice of where to sit. Thanks for asking. I sat behind the Catamounts.

Where, Cat Fan, did you sit, today, in 5 Star Stadium? Were you able to see the game well? Yeah, with all those thousands of empty seats I had my choice of where to sit. Thanks for asking. I sat behind the Catamounts. Awesome! In 2013, the Mercer Players’ Families seats were where you sat; behind the visiting Team bench. I really enjoyed that. As close as those seats are to the field, I was able to give a lot of good advice to the visiting Coaches. I’m not sure why Mercer moved us to the other side the following year. I bet you had the opportunity to offer some good suggestions to the WCU Coaches yesterday. I see they are getting some strong, helpful recommendations on the WCU message boards, but it’s always better when you can deliver those messages up close & personal. What was your favorite part of the game? I haven’t been able watch it all yet, but I think David Durden’s KO Return for a TD will be my favorite highlight. He’s a special kind of Football Player. About attendance, I saw that WCU reported 6,380 empty seats in Whitmire Stadium when the Catamounts had a winning record and were playing close rival, Chattanooga. As they are playing the SoCon-leading ETSU Bucs on the road next week, they probably return to Cullowhee on 11/5 with a 3-5 overall & 1-5 SoCon record, and losers of 5 in a row, to face The Citadel, who I expect to be 2-5 overall & 2-4 in the SoCon by then. How many more than 6,380 empty seats do you expect for that game? Maybe, 10,000 or more? Well, the good news for you, again, will be that you will have an extensive choice of seats from which to watch WCU’s Defense attempt to slow down The Citadel’s powerful rushing attack. That should be great fun! Enjoy!!

Pretty good win. The offense struggled early but got going and the defense stepped up in the second half(last two touchdowns were in garbage time). Riley looked more comfortable and I hope that trend continues. Every game is big these next 4 weeks but a win over Wofford would be huge. As for the attendance controversy, Yale probably has most programs in the country beat in that category.

As for the attendance controversy, Yale probably has most programs in the country beat in that category. I haven’t watched it all, but I think Kaelan Riley may have had his best game ever as a Mercer Bear. He seemed to have total confidence in every throw he made. He was ZIPPING the ball into tight windows and leading his receivers with just the right amount of air under the ball, when needed, and throwing BB’s when that was the type of throw needed. He also seemed in command of the Offense and the ball handling (meshes) on the RPO’s looked flawless. This started in the 2nd quarter @ Yale and has been a pleasure to watch. With the truly oustanding Receiver corps Mercer is deploying - Irvin, Durden, Houzah, Walker (so great to see him ‘breaking out’ this week), Cannon, Jones, and Mitchell out of the backfield - Riley has a veritable cornucopia of options. OL needs to continue to give him time to distribute the ball & the Bears O can GO FAR!

Just wondering, has Mercer ever given up 710 yards of total offense to anyone else before? As bad a defense as WCU has, they only give up 572 yards of total offense to the Bears. Yeah, yeah, I know what the final score was, we lost, but damn, giving up 710 yards to the 8th place team in the conference has to be an embarrassment.

I’m sure Mercer’s Coaches & Players are not pleased with number of points they allowed WCU to score on Saturday. I’m sure they have been hard at work since Sunday as they correct mistakes and prepare for their important game with Wofford this Saturday. The Bears are only 4 wins away from winning, outright, their 1st-ever Southern Conference Championship & making their 1st trip to the FCS Playoffs. No other SoCon Team is in that position right now; certainly not the one that left Macon with another L on Saturday. I doubt Mercer’s Coaches or Players really care about the number of yards allowed. Citing the number of yards gained in a loss; well, that’s the official currency of losers. Do you REALLY want to open a discussion about embarrassing Football? To save you from that, I’ll just post a few partial data points; you should know them painfully well...and you can just let them sink in & simmer on them for a while. 0 for 43 35 consecutive 3 in a row Enjoy the rest of the season!

After we went up 59-33 with just over 8 minutes left in the game, ESPN has us at 99.9% chance of winning. Basically, the game was over at that point and the buses back to the wee should have been getting warmed up. Taking away the possessions after that point the yardage totals are 569 for Mercer and 550 for WCU. Yes, I still have concerns about our defense and we will probably have to outscore teams to keep winning. Also, we should probably include some of the hidden yardage that somewhat limited our offensive output. Including the punt/KO teams Mercer had 759 yards while WCU had 594.

And to save you some typing, I'm not embarrassed by any statistics you'd like to post about Catamount football. I didn't hire the current coaching staff, nor do I pay their salary. So I have little or nothing to be embarrassed about for 40+ years of terrible football in Cullowhee.
...and at our lowest, we didn't give up 710 years to another FCS team. LOL

Agreeing wholeheartedly with your video, I have to conclude s/he is speculating on the number of years that it will take WCU to win their 1st-ever SoCon Championship. “710 years.” Sounds about right...maybe.
