Finally, it has arrived. Game week!
Who's going? Since it's a rather unusual Thursday nighter, are people going down early? I hope it's a packed house, but it will be interesting to see how the Thursday night bit affects season ticket holders from Atlanta.

My wife and I are coming down a little early, just to try and beat Atlanta traffic. We'll probably bring chairs, but I don't think we are going to go full-tent tailgate for this one. Also, it's apparently going to be HOT. 96 degrees as the high, I think I saw. Anyway, can't wait to see this one. BEAT THE SHITADEL OUTTA THE CITADEL!

It takes years of practice, but it can be done.

Bears’ depth chart is set for season openerMan, I am so proud of OG, #55 Avery White & DE, #59 Tunde Ayinla for earning their Starts on Thursday night! Avery was a Day1 and Tunde came in with the 2nd class (the last non-scholarship class). Both have faced huge disappointment and/or injuries during their career. Both have had to earn their spots over much more highly recruited, taller, bigger, faster, and more athletic players. But both have 2 things in common - indomitable spirits (they just won't be beaten or beaten down) and non-stop 'motors.' They both play every play as if it were their last - one gear - top end - ALL the time. Watch 'em and tell me I'm wrong. Can't wait to watch each of them SHOW OUT on Thursday night!

If you want to read a GREAT primer on The Citadel @ Mercer game Thursday night, this is it: 2016 Football, Game 1: The Citadel vs. MercerAlthough the author is a HARD-CORE El Cid FAN (known elsewhere as "Sandlapper Spike,") the material is presented in a 99.9% "Fair & Balanced" way (our national news outlets should take note). If you are a Stats Geek, there is everything you could possible want in this article. History buff? You're well-covered. More into the Players and their positions, you got it. Want to find other relevant reading material - plenty of links to other articles....and I'm confident this correspondent is also a 'lurker' on this very message board... "The Citadel is a 7-point favorite over Mercer. Earlier in the summer, that line was 8 1/2, but apparently some money has come in on Mercer." Everyone's calling out your investment habits, BearDownMU! Seriously, take some time (it will take you quite a bit of time, actually) and check this piece out! If you would like, you can also follow this writer, as I do, on Twitter: @sandlapperspike

Good luck to y'all against The Citadel. I think y'all are catching them at a perfect time on the schedule to really take it to them.
Also, on the subject of tearing down the visitor side stands at Johnson Hagood Stadium. Given the visitor side is a God-forsaken dump, I hope they do tear them down!

Catamount 87 Why is it you feel they are catching my dogs at the perfect time?? Based on what I am hearing from the dogs camp I have a feeling you are wrong on the timing of playing he dogs...
You probably say that since we have a new hc , oc and dc. And yes our starting QB is out as well. Bad news for the socon is in reality we only lost hc and dc. We have two pre season all Americans and some new guys who will play this week that will shock the socon and mercer with their speed and athleticism. This team could very well be the fastest in school history on both sides of the ball. If we win the turnover battle and have equal or less panalties our offense will be tough to stop. Our 2nd team slot back runs 4.4 40. With that being said you never know how a QB who has never taken a college snap will react to the environment . The Bears better hope he does not do what he has been doing on the practice fields this camp.

Better? "Better" is for the sick. Take that junk back to some knob. No Bears gonna be studyin' that noise from you or any other bellhop.
