You know I have the CORRECT knowledge & you know the circumstances around 1 departure & 1 new hire. Anyone can have that knowledge, as both situations are matters of public record. I have no problem with embarrassing WCU & the WCU Football program (heck, they really don’t need FUBeAR’s help; pretty much have that activity down cold for themselves). BUT - I do not like embarrassing individuals, so I won’t. You, on the other hand, have no hesitation to come here and publicly post (INCORRECTLY) about 6 Mercer Football Coaches being ‘wholesale fired after last season.’ These fine men have careers & families, and you are on here absolutely libeling them...and, somehow, think you are the righteous one. Really sad. I'm a wholesale moron so it really can't be helped. Go Bears. Robert Riddle > Tyrie Adams. If you can stomach over an hour of hearing about WCU Football, you can watch / listen to this... Cantamount Football Preseason Special - How to Open 0-1 in the SoConNothing much interesting for the 1st 25 minutes or so, so skip ahead. Sounds like the Cants may open with 2 True Freshmen starting on the OL at C & OG. I look for Mercer’s #58 to have a BIG day, if so. |

So to talk about the game, FUBeAR (or any other MU fans) - what are your honest thoughts? Not looking for smack, just some ideas about the game. Are we looking at another track meet with Adams and Riddle leading the 2 offenses? Will Mercer be better on D? Do you think sloppy early season offenses who are typically behind the defense will hold true?
WCU has tons of skill players back on both sides - Adams, the other two top rushers in Young and Spencer, the top 2 WRs and an All-SoCon caliber TE on O, and we have probably a dozen or more guys who started or had a lot of playing time on D (strength will be in the back end). But both of our lines are retooling. On D we are probably going to be ok with some talented guys (and let’s face it - the D line was pretty bad so it can only go up). On O we replace 4 starters, but I am hopeful we have some talent there and our skill guys and the type of scheme we run can take some pressure off them (quick passes, RPOs on the outside, etc.).
For WCU to win, we have to get some kind of pressure from the D-line, hold our own with some talented DBs against Riddle and your WRs, and try to limit all the big plays that we gave up in last year’s game. Easier said than done, and I am not going to be surprised if both teams score a lot again.
