lol - C & OG, Krieger & Robinson are both returning Starters. Robinson started games 1-5 before he was injured. Krieger & May (graduated) each started several games at C last year. The 1 who was least banged up started each week. May & Dawson Ellis (OT) are the only OL Starters not returning. Ellis would have been a R-Sr, but he already graduated & made a just prior-to-camp decision to hang up the cleats. And the D list is all jacked up...3 DLmen & 4 LB’s in a base 4-2-5 D. So...Guillen (returning Starter) is prolly ur other Starting DE & Craighead prolly not starting. Also, Fleming is not a LB. he’s a DB. So +2 on O & +1 on D = 8 on each...as previously advertised. If the list is jacked up, it's jacked up because Mercer published it a jacked up list. Lots of pride in their work, I see. Mercer’s SID left for a PAC12 job 2 weeks ago. Search for replacement is underway. Would you care to discuss WCU’s seamless, smooth-as-glass Search process for hiring a Chancellor?

Tell me, what has WCU's search for a chancellor have to do with with publishing a "jacked up" game notes? The only problem with WCU hiring of a chancellor transpired at UNC System Board. The process was smooth as silk from the WCU search committee, to submitting three candidates to the University System President. No way that can be blamed on WCU, nor is it a bad reflection on the university. So, discuss away.

Entire process was a widely-known & well-publicized cluster. WAY more revealing of overall character than 1 week of a Football 2-Deep

Entire process was a widely-known & well-publicized cluster. WAY more revealing of overall character than 1 week of Game Notes. Not so, the problem had nothing to do with the Western Carolina, or the WCU Board of Trustees. Obviously you know little of how a chancellor is selected for one of the 16 members of the University of North Carolina System. If you kept up with it, then you know that in the UNC systems procedure, the university's Board of Trustees appointed a search committee. That search committee's job is to complete a national search for candidates for the chancellor position. At the end of their search and interviews, the search committee presents three (3) nominees back to the university Board of Trustees. If the board approves those three (and the names are never made public), the board forwards those three names to the president of the entire university system. The university president interviews those three, and makes a final recommendation to the UNC System Board of Governors. Usually the board of governors rubber stamps the president's selection, and that person is hired. In this case, the former university system president, and that board of governors were not working well together due to what was commonly thought to be politics. In that particular case, the board of governors rejected the president's 1st choice recommendation for the position. The recommendation was the president's recommendation alone, again, names are never published in the chancellor searches in the UNC system. Western Carolina's search committee and the university board of trustees do not make recommendations for chancellor, they just submit three finalist to the university system president. So, the battle was between the university system president and university board of governors, and had nothing to do with WCU. The entire process was again duplicated, and the second time, a new chancellor was hired under a NEW university system president. Now explain your "jacked up" game notes were published by Mercer. Just saying the SID left two weeks ago is not a good reason to jack up a 2 deep roster when whoever typed it up just have just had the HC or one of the asst. coaches to review it, or even a team manager could have probably eliminate mistakes on a 2-deep roster. I guess they couldn't hire a proof reader?

Pretty good first half. Need to tighten up a little with the offense. Left some points on the field.

Congrats to the Bears. WCU clearly was not ready to play, and Mercer came in jacked up. I am trying to decide if Mercer is really good, or if they just got lucky with their first opponent being pretty bad :-)
Good luck the rest of the way.

1st time in Cullowhee since 1983. Fabulous experience. Everyone from concession stand attendants to ticket takers to sideline security were fantastically friendly. Stadium was nice. All good. Even got to visit the spot where I buried my ACL in 1980.

Congrats to Mercer on a nice win.
If anyone is still up there, there's a bakery in Sylva with the best lemon bars I've ever eaten.

Nice win!
Off this great victory, I feel confident that the Bears will be 10-0 heading into the North Carolina game. Anything less is unacceptable.
